Summer-Time Educational Program for Utmost Progress!
Cesar lives with his family in a densely populated apartment complex, adjacent to the Children’s Resource Center, where two or even three families live in a single apartment. Although Cesar expressed a deep desire to join our program, he was placed on a waitlist for several months due to the lack of funding. It was clear to our team that our program would be incredibly beneficial for Cesar. Although he’s only a child, Cesar takes on a lot of responsibilities at home because both of his parents work and his older brother has an intellectual disability.
As a result of the donations raised last summer, Cesar was able to attend our summer program. Since joining our center, he has consistently expressed his gratitude. After attending each field trip during the summer program, Cesar would graciously thank staff and state that without our program he would have never had opportunities to go to places like Knotts Berry Farm or the Orange County Fair.
Thanks to people like you, Cesar is now a part of our year-round programming where our dedicated and supportive staff is eager to work with him. He now receives tutoring and homework assistance five days a week, along with a healthy meal. Cesar is attending counseling to help him better process his heightened stress. Although he has only been a part of the program for a short period of time, his progress is remarkable. Cesar and the CRC staff have seen a significant improvement in his behavior.
In Cesar’s words, “I am learning to be kind to others and to not be too rough with them.”
We can’t wait to see the incredible things Cesar accomplishes in the coming years.

Many people have a wonderful image of summer as a carefree time when “kids can be kids.”
Unfortunately, during this time many children in low income and at-risk families fall behind without access to basic needs such as healthy meals, adult supervision, and educational opportunities. Can you help us bridge the gap? Together we can make a real, lasting impact for our community’s most vulnerable kids.
