James H. Herrera

James has extensive experience in operations, strategic planning, and risk management. He served in the US Marine Corps for thirty-five years participating in numerous overseas deployments and commanding at every level appropriate with his rank as Colonel.

Upon his retirement he founded the INCEPTUM consulting group and has been affiliated with the Illumination Foundation for over six years; first serving on the Board of Directors, then as a planning and security consultant and most recently as Senior Director of Strategy and Programs Integration. He is passionate about serving those most vulnerable.

James has an MA in International Affairs from The Catholic University of America and a MA in Strategic Studies from the Army War College.
